The Book of Fae

Native to Britain and Scotland, Brownies are domestic wee-folk known for secretly helping with household chores, especially at night. They ask for no payment beyond small tokens like food or trinkets.  

Brownies are industrious, shy, and quiet. They prefer to work unnoticed, often cleaning or repairing things in the dark. In the wilderness, they redirect their helpful instincts toward tidying the land and removing litter left by humans.

They can be attracted by antique trinkets.

Living beneath in the mountains of Scandinavia, Dvergar are ancient, stout beings of the under-earth, believed to have shaped the bones of the world. Unlike their kin in war-torn tales of hammers and forges, these Dvergar are solitary, patient artisans who see the land itself as a living project. They value balance and maintenance over change, making them the perfect stabilizers of any recovering ecosystem.

Faeries are delicate, ethereal beings of the natural world, often no taller than a few inches. Mischievous fae of Cornish folklore, Spriggans are said to guard ancient ruins, barrows, and hidden treasures. They are often depicted as wizened, gnarled beings, small in stature but able to swell into giant, fearsome forms when angered. Their appearance is twisted and thorn-like, resembling tangled roots and brambles. 

Unicorns are majestic and elusive creatures, embodying purity, grace, and the quiet power of the natural world. They are drawn to rings of bright wildflowers, sensing the harmony and balance these blooms represent. When a unicorn appears, it brings more than beauty—it brings healing. With a touch of their spiraled horn, they purify toxins and poisons from the land, cleansing polluted soil, tainted water, and blighted flora. Their presence is a rare blessing, often marking a turning point in the restoration of a wounded ecosystem. Gentle yet vigilant, unicorns will not linger where violence or corruption remains.
